Founder and Board President
Laura Kuehl
Laura brings lived experience overcoming challenges associated with foster care to her leadership at HeadsUp Fox Cities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in client services and social work and has a professional background in victim advocacy. Being a mom is her most challenging and rewarding role. In her free time, Laura enjoys watching her son play baseball and tending to her garden. Her passion lies in building authentic relationships and creating spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead. Laura believes that lasting change begins with trust and consistent presence.

Executive Director
Sara Brown
Sara brings leadership experience with a focus on homelessness prevention, and housing stability. Sara also brings with her experience having served both as a Foster Parent and working in Child Welfare, dedicated to family preservation, system reform, and prevention efforts. She drives results through a lens of people first, collaboration, building relationships, and compassion. Sara works to address the gaps and needs in our community and works tirelessly to come up with solutions that support those impacted directly. In her free time, she sits as the Vice President on the New London Girls Youth Basketball Association Board, coaches 5th grade girls travel basketball, and Junior Varsity at New London HS. Her 3 daughters, 3 doodles, and wife keep her busy!

Director of Operations
Beth Weiler
Beth brings a people-first spirit and sharp organizational skills to her role as Director of Operations. Her unwavering commitment to 'figuring it out' keeps the team grounded, focused and moving forward towards their greater goal of helping the former foster youth in our community. Beth is deeply passionate about building sustainable paths to support the success of HeadsUp Fox Cities to best serve our current and future participants in their journeys. In her free time she enjoys playing cribbage and bingo and spending time with friends and family.

Life Skills Coordinator
Caprice Swanks
Caprice is passionate about social justice and building meaningful connections between people and the natural world. She graduated with a degree in Sociology, where she focused on understanding how communities can thrive when equity and compassion are centered. At HeadsUp Fox Cities, she brings this perspective to her work, helping foster a stronger, more connected community. In her free time, Caprice enjoys foraging for mushrooms and birdwatching with her husband, finding joy and peace in the beauty of the outdoors.

Christina McCarty
Christina is a Fox Cities native who draws on her experience serving many different marginalized communities. On the weekends she can be found kayaking and running with her dog or curled up on the couch with her cat, a cup of tea and a good book.

Annie Jacklin
Annie is a UW-Oshkosh alum who earned her Bachelor's of Social Work degree with a minor in Social Justice and emphasis in Prejudice and Discrimination. Annie has worked for nonprofit agencies of the greater Fox Valley area over the past decade. She embraces "meeting people where they are at" and values the importance of meeting basic needs first before reaching other goals and needs. Annie has a deep rooted understanding of trauma and the impacts it has on young adults who are at a formative point of their lives. She is a family girl to her core and enjoys a day on the lake, playing tennis, and thrifting.
